HexScope01 · Files stay on your Mac
HexScope processes the files you open and the text you enter on your Mac. The current app does not upload file contents, entered text or usage events to the developer. It has no advertising, tracking or third-party analytics SDK and does not require an app account.
02 · Preferences and saved locations
The app stores interface language, page size and display mode locally, along with up to 15 recent file paths, named byte bookmarks and system file-access bookmarks. It does not save text-encoding input or search queries as preferences. macOS may independently manage memory, diagnostics and backups.
03 · Clearing saved information
Clear Recent Files removes the recent list. Named byte bookmarks remain until you remove them through the bookmark controls. File-access bookmarks are retained while a file appears in the recent list or has saved byte bookmarks. Clearing recents alone does not remove every saved path or access bookmark.
04 · Copies and exports
Copy writes selected output to the system clipboard. Export writes to the location you choose. Other apps, clipboard features, cloud storage and backups may handle these copies according to your settings. HexScope does not control those services.
05 · When you contact support
Email is optional. We receive your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send at hexscopeservice@outlook.com. Please use synthetic examples instead of confidential files. This mailbox uses Microsoft Outlook; Microsoft processes mail under its own privacy statement. We use support messages only to respond to enquiries and investigate problems. We retain them for up to 12 months after the issue is closed, then delete our copies. You may request earlier deletion by email. Mail-provider backup handling is governed by its own policies.
06 · Purchases and this website
App Store purchases and system-level diagnostics are handled separately by Apple under its policies. HexScope does not request payment-card details inside the app. These pages contain no analytics scripts, advertising or contact form. Cloudflare Pages hosts this website and processes web requests to serve these pages; this is separate from the app’s on-device file processing.
